Some Chelsea fans unite to tackle online racism after striker’s ordeal

Tammy Abraham was allegedly the subject of online racist abuse, following his penalty miss against Liverpool in the Super Cup Final on Wednesday night.

As reported here by anti-discrimination in sport organisation Kick It Out, investigations were underway following the incidents.

The organisation will now be meeting with Twitter bosses to discuss how to combat this reoccurring issue on the social media platform.

Normally, users will get banned from the site and have their accounts closed down. However, it is easy to setup a different account right away using a different email address.

Sky Sports report that Twitter and Kick It Out have a meeting arranged now to discuss the above, and how to tackle it going forward.

This is great news, but definitely long overdue.

Chelsea fans have been rallying around on Twitter to show their support for their new number 9, with the majority of them wanting to also see an end to such disgusting behaviour.
