Frank Lampard receives words of support from former Chelsea manager

Frank Lampard has been receiving support from a number of former Chelsea managers since taking the reigns at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

Guus Hiddink has this week has taken the time to issue Lampard a ‘very nice message’, according to quotes on The Chelsea FC website.

Hiddink has had two spells managing Chelsea, once as a Manager in 2009, then again as an Interim Manager in 2015.

Hiddink is currently managing the China Under 22 team and has overseen a decorated managerial career to date.

The former Netherlands manager is a fan favourite a Stamford Bridge and still takes an interest in the general goings on at the club, being a close friend with owner Roman Abramovich, according to The Evening Standard.

Despite this though, Lampard insists that he doesn’t go looking for words from other managers and likes to pick things up himself.

Speaking to the Chelsea website, he said: “I haven’t gone searching for too many words from managers.

“I try and learn via myself and by working with the players daily. I think we have to find our own way, that’s the way it is.

“If I rung up Carlo Ancelotti to ask about a situation it would be so different to a situation he dealt with, so I don’t go searching for that.”

Lampard saw his side lose to Kawasaki Frontale on Friday morning on what was his third pre-season match in charge of the Blues.

Chelsea face Barcelona on Tuesday in what will prove to be an even tougher test, as things look to heat up for the former Chelsea player and his new coaching team.
