Chelsea want to offer another hot prospect a new contract

Reece James currently has three years left on his Chelsea deal. However, The Blues want to offer him an extended deal, according to The Evening Standard.

The report states that Chelsea are going to give James a place in the first team squad this season, and are considering sending Davide Zappacosta out on loan to make the space.

Stating that with Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek having signed new deals, and Callum Hudson-Odoi expected to soon sign his, James will be the next one to be offered a long term contract at Stamford Bridge according to the paper.

James had a successful season on loan at Wigan Athletic last season, and has gained plaudits for his progression.

Growing up within the Chelsea academy, James is another player who will be looking to get his chance to break into the first team setup this year under Frank Lampard and Jody Morris.

Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount also look nailed on to stay in the first team setup this season.
