Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea set a new Europa League record with our 1-1 draw away to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night.

Winning the Europa League has fast become a priority for the Blues, with the domestic Champions League chase proving increasingly treacherous.

Sarri’s men have had the luck of the draw for much of the competition, but last night’s game proved that Eintracht will be no pushovers over two legs.

Despite the German side’s grit and undeniable quality, Chelsea still pulled through with a positive result ahead of the return fixture at Stamford Bridge.

In doing so, we set a new Europa League record, with was previously held by Atletico Madrid. @OptaJoe revealed this information on Twitter.

Chelsea do not belong in the Europa League, which has only been further proven by how straightforward our campaign has been to date.

We’ll be remaining hopeful that we can add two more games to that impressive run – and finish the competition as champions.
