Chelsea player admits to drink driving charge to continue horror season

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has admitted to drink driving at a hearing at Stockport magistrates court today.

The former Leicester man has been ordered to do 70 hours of community service and has had a 20 month driving ban enforced, according to the Guardian.

The 29 year old was more than twice the limit when he had a serious at the start of April. Two passengers were in the car which took some serious damage, but none of the passengers were hurt.

It compounds what has been a dreadful two years for Drinkwater. Since signing for Chelsea he has barely featured for the club, and not since the Community Shield this season.

He has proven to be one of the worst signings in the club’s history, and it looks like his personal life is going through a tricky spell too.

Just weeks before the incident with his car, he had been pictured a club in London with several other Chelsea players, looking a little worse for wear.
