Petr Cech will return to Chelsea as sporting director this summer, Sky Sports are reporting.
It’s a welcome move for the club, who have been without anyone in such a role since Michael Emenalo left in December 2017.
Now once Petr Cech has hung up his boots – after next week’s Europa League final – he will be able to come in and start giving this club some direction that is sorely needed.

Whether he will be working with Maurizio Sarri is another matter. The Italian manager is increasingly being linked with a return to his native country of Italy.
Inter Milan have now apparently joined Juventus among the interested parties. If Chelsea are having second thoughts about the former Napoli boss, this could work out perfectly for all sides.
On the other hand, if they really want to install Cech to work with him, maybe this will be what persuades him to stay.
Clearly the club have liked how Edwin Van Der Sar has operated at Ajax recently… this will be a very popular move with the fans ,either way.
