BREAKING: Callum Hudson-Odoi leaning towards Chelsea stay with eyes on Hazard’s 10 shirt

Callum Hudson-Odoi, whose future was very much in doubt not long ago, now seems to be tending towards staying at Chelsea.

That’s according to Goal.com’s Nizaar Kinsella, who says the 18 year old sees Eden Hazard’s impending departure as the perfect chance to replace him – with even the Belgian’s number 10 shirt  in the youngsters’ crosshairs.

Kinsella also reports that Bayern offered Arjen Robben’s 10 shirt and first team place to CHO when they bid for him back in January, but the serious achilles injury suffered last month by the exciting prospect has scuppered that move for now.

It seems like there’s a long way to go, but the article says clearly that “Hudson-Odoi increasingly wants to stay at Chelsea”, and that does make sense given how things have shifted.

Once Hazard goes, CHO may see a better pathway to first team action at Chelsea than anywhere else, and that might just be what tips the balance in our favour. Seeing him sign on the dotted line would certainly wipe away the pain of seeing him suffer such a bad injury.
