Eden Hazard not in Chelsea’s Plan A or B for next season

Chelsea are beginning to make plans for next season, with transfers integral to the kind of success Maurizio Sarri would like should he remain head coach of the club.

The Blues have a FIFA transfer ban looming on them after the world governing body of football rejected the appeal to freeze a ban on activity in the next two transfer windows. It is very likely the London club will not be able to engage in transfer negotiations next summer.

However, keeping their brightest stars will be yet another problem. The likes of Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante will not leave the gossip columns, and the Blues are now apparently making plans without at least the Belgium international in mind.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are developing two plans for next season with Sarri, but neither involve Hazard, who is looking for a way out of the club to join Real Madrid.

It seems the top hierarchy at the club have accepted they will lose their biggest star at the end of the season, with Real, who have welcomed Zinedine Zidane back at the Santiago Bernabeu, already making an approach to sign him. That’s a bitter blow, but one we’ve been able to forsee for some time. Let’s hope the succession plan is in place.
