Spanish paper AS is saying that Eden Hazard’s future no longer rests in the winger’s hands, nor is it in the power of Chelsea.
“It all depends on Madrid”, they say. Let’s explain.
The Blues have apparently made two contract offers to Eden Hazard, which he has declined to accept.
Chelsea will sell him if he won’t sign, but they want Real Madrid to offer over £1oom for the Belgian.
Eden is happy to stay at Chelsea and will sign one of the deals on the table if the Spanish club don’t want him enough to take him there.
So really we just wait now, and see what happens in the Spanish capital. If they decide they want to go for another target, or stick with what they have, we might end up keeping our star boy.
If they persuade themselves they need to stump up, they can get their man. At least we’ll get a nine figure sum.
