John Terry set to remain in England despite huge offer from CSL

Former Chelsea captain John Terry is set to agree a £60,000-a-week deal with Championship side Aston Villa despite talks with Premier League clubs, according to the Sunsport.

The Chelsea legend has left the club this summer after 22 years and is considwering a number of English clubs including Premier League sides West Brom, Bournemouth and Swansea.

There were talks of initially preferring to retire although Terry has swiftly rejected those reports. He has his sights on playing active football and would prefer to stay in England than move to the Chinese Super Lague.

According to the report by Metro, Tianjin Quanjian are ready to offer the 36-year-old a £10million-year deal but his choice is to keep playing in England.

Villa will hand Terry a £3 million a year contract plus add ons of £2 million is he helps the club win promotion to the top flight.

Terry and Villa boss Steve Bruce were pictured playing golf together at the Quinta do Lago resort, where talks are believed to have intensified.
