Cesc Fabregas wants to stay at Chelsea despite exit rumours

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was an unused substitute in Chelsea 2-1 win over West Ham yesterday evening, and the Spain international has been thus linked with a move away from the club.

It’s been uncertain does the 29-year-old have a place in Antonio Conte’s plans for the new season, and big clubs like Real Madrid, Juventus and his former team Barcelona, have all showed interest on him.

However, after Antonio Conte guaranteed Fabregas to be involved in the upcoming games, the player has confirmed to be keen on staying at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian manager told Sky Sports that Fabregas has to understand the situation in a great team like Chelsea, but is happy how well the player has reacted.

Cesc is Chelsea’s player, and I’m happy about him, with his attitude and behaviour.

He must know from before that when we are a great team like Chelsea it can happen that I have to take a decision before the game to choose a starting XI.

That can happen that Fabregas is not in the starting XI, but it can happen for all the players. It’s important to see always the right attitude. Because we must fight this season and it’s important to stay together in every situation.

Chelsea were victorious in Antonio Conte’s first game in charge of the club.

But then the shape can improve and can change all the situations. Now I took this decision but the next game I can change or not.

When a coach takes this decision there is always a reason but I prefer to keep this to myself.

But I repeat I don’t see any problem and I’m very happy to have these players, to train these players.

While Fabregas sat on the bench throughout the whole 90 minutes, Oscar continued his good run after impressing Conte during pre-season, and proved to be a good choice in yesterday’s win.
