Chelsea’s recent form has been a sight to behold. Eight consecutive victories in the Premier League, scoring 22 and conceding just two. The style of play which Antonio Conte has instilled at Stamford Bridge has resulted in several of the most emphatic and entertaining victories the Chelsea faithful have witnessed in recent years.
One man who is certainly impressed with the work that Conte is doing at Chelsea is Jake Humphrey, the main presenter of BT Sport’s football coverage. Speaking exclusively with Chelsea News, Humphrey revealed: “I think whatever Conte has done, it is magic.”
Humphrey went on to praise the impact Conte has had at the Bridge. He claimed that when measured up to how his managerial counterparts have fared at their respective clubs, Conte comes out on top: “I think Conte has had a bigger immediate impact at that football club than Jose’s had at United, Guardiola’s had at City, and Klopp had at Liverpool.”
Despite transforming Chelsea from mid-table mediocrity to genuine title contenders in a matter of months, Humphrey did not feel as though Conte has been given due credit: “He’s not had enough credit for making Diego Costa be less wild on a football field and continuing to get goals out of him. Or getting the best out of players like Victor Moses who to all intents and purposes who had pretty much left Chelsea.”
The BT Sport presenter went on to give us his tip for the title this season: “I think that the work he is doing is incredible and I think you’ll win the Premier League.”
