Diego Costa ‘100 per cent’ staying at Chelsea to play under Antonio Conte

Just hours after Diego Costa was linked with a return to Atletico Madrid and planned to be replaced by Graziano Pellè and Gonzalo Higuain, the Spain international is committed to play under the incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte next season.

According to The Telegraph, the finished Azzurri boss has a dream of pairing Costa with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata at The Blues.

Chelsea only announced the signing of Michy Batshuayi yesterday, but Conte is still keen to sign at least one more striker to expand his options for his favoured 4-2-4 formation.

The Italian boss is also keen on Southampton star Graziano Pellè, who he enjoyed a successful Euro 2016 campaign with, but will first do his everything to sign Morata, who is valued around £50million by Real Madrid.

Regardless of Atletico Madrid’s clear intentions of re-signing Costa, the 27-year-old stated to his teammates last night that he’s going to start next season at Chelsea.

Costa has maybe struggled to settle in England since joining the West London club in 2014, but after receiving a lift in his form under interim manager Guus Hiddink, the forward gave all the fans a reminder of why we signed him in the first place.
