Chelsea ready to sell Diego Costa to finance £95m doube striker swoop

Chelsea are reportedly ready to sell want-away star Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid, and use the funds to sign two replacements for him, with Arsenal and Liverpool target Gonzalo Higuain and Southampton star Graziano Pellè named on the shortlist.

Only yesterday The Blues confirmed the signing of highly-rated youngster Michy Batshuayi from Olympique de Marseille with a £33m deal, but the recent rumours are suggesting that he’s not the only forward we’re possibly signing this summer.

Michy Batshuayi’s move to Chelsea from Olympique de Marseille was officially announced yesterday.

With last season’s loanees Alexandre Pato and Radamel Falcao returning to their host clubs, the exit-seeking Costa and newly-signed Batshuayi are left as the only forwards in the team, and it’s likely that the Blues will have to look for a few more attacking reinforcements.

Chelsea plotting £78m bid for Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain has attracted interest all-around Europe following his peaking season for Napoli.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are only ready to sell the Brazil-born Spain international if they can clinch a deal for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain as a replacement.

The 28-year-old hitman is in high demand this summer, as the Argentina international scored a list-topping 36 goals in just 35 Serie A appearances last campaign.

Higuain has a huge release-clause of £78m on his contract, as the Italian outfit are not willing to sell him with any less than that.

However, The Blues are confident that they can pull a deal through for him this summer, as Antonio Conte is ready to do his everything to lure the player to Stamford Bridge with him.

Conte is also rumoured to be setting a new 3-5-2 formation at Chelsea alongside his arrival, and to be able to play with two strikers, he needs to start looking for a few more options to use.

Conte wants Pellè reunion at Chelsea

Graziano Pellè proved to be Antonio Conte’s main striker in this summer’s Euro 2016.

A striker Antonio Conte would be definitely keen to sign is Graziano Pellè, who succeeded to score twice under the Azzurri boss in this season’s Euro 2016 tournament.

Southampton are ready to let the 30-year-old striker leave for a fee “between £10million and £20million” this summer, and the interest from clubs in Serie A and the Chinese Super League alongside Chelsea is mounting.

And according to Daily Telegraph, Ronald Koeman’s side are looking to reinvest the money from Sadio Mané’s £34m move to Liverpool to another forward, with the club’s January signing Charlie Austin also being seen as a long-term replacement for Pellé.
