Chelsea forward Michy Bathsuayi is confident of making swift improvements under Antonio Conte after describing his relationship with the new manager as ‘perfect’, Daily Mail reports.
The Belgium international arrived at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea’s first signing of the summer after completing a £31.5million move from French side Olympique de Marseille.
Batshuayi joined his new team-mates a little over a week ago in The Blues’s training camp in Austria, and he is already feeling like he is making huge improvement under the new manager.
I have a perfect relationship with the coach. I already feel like I am progressing a lot under him.
I am still young, 22, and I am happy to have a great coach who will make me improve.
The 22-year-old praises the cover of Conte’s training sessions, but admits that he has to be 100 percent focused to make it in this level.
Training has been very tactical and very physical, it’s been on another level.
It’s been different to what I experienced before because you have to be 100 per cent concentrated in every session.
Batshuayi scored twice yesterday when Chelsea cruised into an 8-0 win over Austrian fourth division champions Atus Ferlach in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
He is said to be a bit behind his team-mates fitness-wise due to his EURO2016 commitments, but he’s surely going to be ready to face West Ham in August 12th.
I was just a little bit tired because it had only been two days after I had started preparations for the season, but I feel I am progressing bit by bit so it’s no problem.
Beforehand the coach told me to use what I had learned in training and put it into practice during the game. It went well I think.
