“I can’t understand that” – Former Chelsea player disagrees with Sarri’s tactics

Former Chelsea player Paul Canoville has been speaking to LoveSport radio about Maurizio Sarri’s start at the club, and there are certain things he just doesn’t get.

One of these is the way he deploys N’Golo Kante in a more attacking role, further forward on the right.

That’s old ground at this point, and we’ve gone over it countless times.  Some believe it’s madness to waste the Frenchman out of position, others say that you have to go all in on committing to Sarri’s system, which uses him in a different role.

The other thing he really doesn’t like is how little Callum Hudson-Odoi is used, and you can see his comments on the subject here:

“He makes a difference every time he goes on the pitch. It’s funny how you see that. In the period when I was playing, if you could make a difference you played.”

Plenty of Chelsea fans agree. And it can be hard to understand the coach’s decisions. Either way, he looks like he’s going to stand by them until the end, and you almost have to admire his stubborn-ness when it comes to not adapting.
