Four names on Chelsea’s managerial shortlist according to journalist

The pressure is once again mounting up on Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino as The Blues get ready to attempt to stay in The FA Cup and advance into the next round tomorrow night.

Pochettino’s side welcome Leeds United to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening and it will certainly not be an easy game against a team in really good form and currently sat in second place in The Championship.

This comes off the back of Chelsea losing to Liverpool in The League Cup Final on Sunday afternoon.

You’d have thought if they won that then things will remains calm, but they didn’t and Pochettino is under pressure again to deliver in the next few games.

And according to journalist Simon Phillips writing on his Substack site today, Chelsea are doing due diligence and already have a shortlist of managers in case they want to replace Pochettino any time soon. As he has four of the names on this list.

Ruben Amorim of Sporting, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, Michel of Girona, and Hansi Flick are all named as persons of interest for Chelsea should they decide to sack Pochettino any time soon.

  1. Chelsea FC will continue to flounder if we insist on sacking our manager every 8 months. It’s really that simple. And the portion of the fan base that reflexively screams for change after every loss aren’t helping matters. Pochettino has built a solid foundation with this group and it’d be a HUGE setback to send him packing at this point. All of this talk and speculation may drive clicks but it’s ultimately sabotaging the very thing the supporters most want — success on the pitch.
