Exclusive report suggests Chelsea players are fearful that ‘pathway’ is blocked

Some Chelsea players are reportedly fearful about their pathways being blocked at the club right now, according to an exclusive report out this morning.

Chelsea beat Leeds United 3-2 in The FA Cup 5th Round last night but they needed a late goal from Conor Gallagher to get the job done.

EXCLUSIVE! No tears from Mudryk, Sterling’s future, Chelsea eyeing two new wingers!

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino suggested after the game that he would of preferred to rest Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, but there are no options to do so.

These are words that would not have gone down within the Chelsea academy, with journalist Simon Phillips reporting on his Substack site today that many academy players are starting to fear that their pathways into the first team are being blocked.

In a deep dive report on the situation, Phillips says that the general feeling within that group is fear of their Chelsea pathways being closed up and many of them truly believe their dream of playing for Chelsea is all but dead.

The Blues have been snapping up many top young talents from around the world in recent windows, making the task of breaking in even harder with more numbers around to try and make it.

  1. Why is this “news?” I’m sure youth players at every big club have these concerns. Nothing newsworthy here if it’s absolutely commonplace for youth players to see a steep climb in front of them into the first-team.
