Die Nieuwsblad in Belgium are reporting that local giants Anderlecht are interested in Chelsea defender Malang Sarr.
You’d be forgiven for having forgotten that Sarri is even at Chelsea – he’s been basically erased from the club’s social media presence as they look to find him a new home. This is just the latest transfer link to the Frenchman, but nothing ever seems to come of them – presumably because he’s on such big money that he can’t be persuaded to go elsewhere.
After signing on a free transfer there were high hopes that Sarr would fetch a tidy profit when sold. Now it looks more like he will eventually walk away when his contract expires, after years of collecting easy money from a silly club who gave him a silly big contract.
Anderlecht have a serious injury crisis at the back, which is apparently making them consider a loan for Sarr. Whether Chelsea would sanction a temporary move is another question, although what seems most likely is just that they want rid of him by whatever means necessary.
