Hakim Ziyech is on loan at Galatasaray, but clearly doesn’t envision a return to Chelsea.
His recent interview in the Netherlands very much puts the Blues in the rear view mirror, and he’s pretty cutting about the transfer policy at Stamford Bridge which sent him from pillar to post and finally to Turkey.
He’s not happy with how he was treated last season, and thinks that the club’s mad spending of the last 18 months has been detrimental, which is quite clearly true:
“A squad with 40 players for one team, that is simply way too many and is asking for trouble,” he said in quotes picked up by Voetball International.
“We had enough players for three top teams. At a certain point, your patience runs out. Like last year, after I returned from the World Cup with Morocco, where we, and myself, had played very well.
“Then they said again: ‘You have to be patient.’ But it ends at some point. I am happy that I have ended it and am now playing at a great club.”
It’s quite scathing, but also hard to disagree with. He’s only repeating what we all could clearly observe from the outside.
Ziyech was largely disappointing as a player, and not many people were too disappointed to see him go on loan, but there’s no denying that he was never going to be able to raise his level much in the mess of last season.
If he isn’t prone to injury and physically fit to play he will get his wishes of regular playing time. EPL is tough it’s not about skills only is about fitness physically. Hope if he wants to come back next season its up to him to show to the club his willing to fight for his place . I like him his good player but he has to fight for the team and prove it to the gaffer that his special like hazard drogba etc ……
