After a great night last night, many woke up to news that Anthony Taylor, recently dropped to the Championship for one week, will take charge of the big clash at Stamford bridge this weekend between Chelsea and Manchester City.
Taylor has a long history of controversial decisions against Chelsea, and fans are fuming on different social media platforms.
The league obviously regard him as one of the best referee’s but the long list of controversial and wrong calls against the Blues says otherwise.
For example, the clear hair pull on Marc Cucurella in the home fixture against Tottenham in 2022 and the kick in the lower area from Harry Maguire to Michy Batshuayi in 2020 come to mind.
I personally feel the standard of overall refereeing in the league this season has been terrible, with Anthony Taylor topping the lot.
