Mauricio Pochettino MUST take risk with key player against Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino has today told reporters in his press conference that Reece James may not be able to play 90 minutes against Tottenham.

Defender came off around the 60th minute against Blackburn on Wednesday due to tiredness and there has been a shortage of recovery time in between these games, let alone tactical preparation.

This brings up the debate amongst fans over who should start at right back on Monday.

Personally I would start Reece James and see how long he could complete in the match, and then I would sub on Malo gusto, hopefully to see the game out.

I believe Reece’s attacking ability and leadership is too good to leave out and although it may be somewhat of a risk to start him, I believe the risk should be taken in these type of games.

Chelsea’s captain nearly scored twice on Wednesday and set up a beautiful chance against Brentford where Cole Palmer and Washington missed the ball from a cut back.

The chance creation will only go out with him in the team and we all know his capability to lockdown, star attackers.
