Chelsea player says he used to pretend to be Rooney, Ronaldo and Messi in his garden

If you are of a similar age to myself, the next story today is going to make you feel very old!

A current Chelsea player has revealed today that when he was a kid playing football in his garden, he used to pretend to be players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Wayne Rooney!

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make contact with Victor Osimhen’s agent, but Paul Winstanley is keen on Ivan Toney – The full latest on the situation!

Thankfully two of them are still playing football, but these are players I grew up alongside!

I am of course talking about 21-year-old Cole Palmer, who is from that era where he would have been very young watching players like Rooney and Messi in their prime!

But those are the names Palmer used to try and emulate in his garden as a kid, and I guess you can say it’s paying off!

Palmer is currently out with the England senior team for the first time in his career, just days after scoring against his former club Manchester City.

As cited by The Daily Mail, Palmer said: “In the garden as a kid I used to pretend to be loads of players. Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi. All of them. But all this felt a long way away when I was that age.

“Now I am here I have thought about it and what it may be like to play. When I make my debut it will be an amazing moment for me and my family… if it happens.”
