AC Milan links to recovering Chelsea defender hard to understand as Blues look to build around France star

Here’s one of the stranger transfer rumours of the day.

AC Milan are looking to strengthen in January as they fall further behind in the Sere A title race, and signing a central defender sounds like a priority for them. The Gazzetta dello Sport have today named a Chelsea man as one of their targets.

Benoit Badiashile has played just once this season, against Blackburn in the EFL Cup. But this is because he’s been injured since the end of our last campaign, and we expect him to get integrated back into the first team picture rather than be allowed to leave. In fact, most fans have him in their strongest theoretical pair of centre backs, and are desperate for Mauricio Pochettino to bring him into the side.

The idea that we’d sell him, a year on from buying him, is quite mad. Even the proposal that he could be loaned seems unlikely – yes there are a lot of other options at centre back, but Badiashile looks to be one of the best prospects around in that position, and we expect Chelsea to make him the heart of their project going forward.

  1. Your comment: “Blues look to build around France star”. Does the ownership feel the same? Remember, money talks and bullshit walks applies to Badiashire just like the talk about Gallagher being a stalwart for us. If they are more valuable in transfer fees versus keeping them and ownership can spend money on “name” players then so be it. ..All that valuable talk and Poch saying how valuable they are is all bull. If ownership doesn’t listen to Poch then it’s both our loses.

  2. I’d definitely agree with that. He looks a great talent in a position we need to fill with quality. And really think that Thiago should be given another year and lending his experiences to him.
