There are few attacking players who don’t get linked with Chelsea at one stage or another at the moment, and the moment we see one connected with another top Premier League club we know it’s only a matter of time before the Chelsea links start.
That’s exactly the case with Lois Openda, the RB Leipzig forward whose name has started to emerge in connection with some top teams in the Premier League. It’s mainly been Manchester United so far, but now we’re seeing the Blues brought into it in places like Caughtoffside.
A lot will depend on the next few months. We now have Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja available for the first time together, and if both can continue scoring and improving we may well get to January and feel happy with our attacking options.
However neither has managed to be a consistent scorer yet, and if there’s a dry spell all around, we expect these Openda rumour to go up a level.
