Chelsea are certainly proving so far this season that they lack firepower up top, after another game without scoring a goal yesterday.
Chelsea played out a stalemate at Bournemouth and although they had chances once again, they failed to finish any of them off and had to settle with a draw. That now marks 5 points in the first 5 games for the club, and that just isn’t good enough.
One journalist has claimed that Chelsea are looking at bringing in a new striker in the next transfer window, and this is not the first time this player has been mentioned with Chelsea in the last few weeks.
Paul Brown says that Brentford striker Ivan Toney is of interest to Chelsea and is certainly the type of player that they need to be looking at bringing in if they want more goals.
Brown was speaking to GIVEMESPORT this weekend and he said:
“It’s clear that Chelsea need some proven firepower in the Premier League because it’s not currently working. They’re creating chances, but they don’t really have a proper finisher or someone that you can really rely on and be guaranteed to get 20 to 30 goals a season. Ivan Toney is probably in that bracket, so I think he would certainly be of interest to Chelsea and I think he’d be a great signing.”
