Enzo masterclass at altitude hailed by Argentine press

Amid the chaos of the last 6 months, there has been one shining light. With bad results and bad signings all around, Enzo Fernandez has managed to look like a super player, and a bargain despite being a British transfer record.

The midfielder looks top class even when Chelsea play badly and lose, and he is one signing that nobody is questioning.

His form with Argentina looks even better. The Albiceleste went to La Paz and beat Bolivia 3-0 last night (no mean feat) and Enzo was instrumental, scoring the opener and picking up an impressive 9/10 rating in Olé magazine in his home country. They said it was “already clear that nothing weighs on him” after he helped pick up a win in unique circumstances.

He denied that the altitude was even a problem once he had adapted:

“The truth is that I was able to adapt well and I felt good the entire game. Perhaps the most difficult thing was the first 20 minutes,” he said in quotes translated by SportWitness.

The important thing is that he’s made it through unscathed, and should right now be making his journey back to Europe to try and recover in time for Sunday’s game against Bournemouth.
