“Definitely the right man for the job” – John Terry unequivocal on new Chelsea manager

John Terry has had his say on new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.

There has been a lot of excitement around the arrival of Pochettino and what he can do to transform a struggling Chelsea team, and after a promising summer that excitement had only grown.

The early results this season have been poor, which perhaps reminded everyone what a big job the Argentine has on his hands, but it hasn’t dimmed enthusiasm for the manager too much, and that goes for Terry too.

He was very complimentary about Pochettino and what he thought he’d be able to bring to the table, this season and beyond:

“I love Poch, I’ve met him a couple of times and had the privilege to be around him at the training ground. He works the players very hard, tactically amazing and I think given time, he’s definitely the right man for the job,” Terry said in quotes picked up by Talksport.

“We’ve seen over the years with his experience with him and what he’s done previously, we are a young squad, they’ve literally just been thrown together, haven’t they?

“There’s a lot of talent there, we’ve had a few injuries as well not go our way, so listen there is loads of football to be played this season, but hopefully exciting stuff.

“And this year, I can see it as more of a kind of blending together and then we will see where we go next season.”

There’s still a long way to go, but despite some dodgy results there does seem to be a lot of progress being made, and as long as you have buy-in from legends like Terry, we can see why fans will continue to see great potential in this season yet.
