Defender’s route to big move may be blocked as demanding manager’s transfer say reduced

Trevoh Chalobah came very close to being the man taken to Bayern Munich to reunited with manager Thomas Tuchel, as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard.

It was to be a loan deal, without even an obligation to buy. It seemed a no-brainer for the German giants. Chelsea got a player who wasn’t going to play much off their books too, hopefully raising his value for a future sale. And Trevoh got a big move to a big team.

In the end, much like the deal fell through, and SportWitness today have translated reports from Germany claiming that the move may be dead forever now, because Tuchel is set to have his say in transfers drastically reduced.

We have to say, while we’re well aware of Tuchel’s flaws in terms of managing up, we can’t help but feel he’s been hard done by here. He had a lot of first team players sold from under him, and in cases including Chalobah’s, the board simply didn’t get the replacements in.
