Chelsea are a little overstocked at centre back right now, and given Mauricio Pochettino wants to trim his squad a little before the deadline tonight, losing someone in that position looks most sensible.
Bottom of the pecking order right now is Bashir Humphreys, who had a great preseason and played on Wednesday night, but will be bumped further down the depth chart by the return of Benoit Badiashile, which is expected any day now.
Footy Insider is reporting that Stoke City are now in “advanced talks” about taking the 20 year on loan for the season.

It’s perfect timing really – he got to impress Pochettino and pick up his first Chelsea start, now he will go and get a really good Championship loan, leaving just as Badiashile gets back to fitness.
He did far better than most expected and looked totally at home in the first team – next summer we will likely see him compete for a first team spot once again.
