Armando Broja makes significant return for Chelsea against Aston Villa

Armando Broja is back on the bench for Chelsea today, marking his first appearance on a squad list since last November.

It’s been a long, difficult road back for the Albania striker, and we’re delighted to see him able to take part again. He will be still some time away from being able to start games, but this is a significant step. Still young and still talented, we can’t wait to see him play again.

It’s not just about Broja’s career though, it’s also about Chelsea’s big troubles in front of goal. One of the most painful aspects of Broja’s long absence is that he could have played so many first team games by now. He was just getting his first consistent chances when disaster struck.

Let’s hope that he can offer something immediately off the bench today and bring Pochettino much needed options in attack while Nicolas Jackson is still finding his feet.
