Lauren James played a part in 5 goals in England’s last game at the Women’s World Cup, leading to Maradonna and Messi comparisons.

But today she went a bit more David Beckham, getting a crazy red card at a critical moment in the tournament.

She trod on a prostrate Nigeria player, subtly, but not subtly enough to fool VAR, who had no choice but to send her packing.

Luckily for her, her teammates were able to dig deep and hold on for a 0-0, before winning on penalties.
