Mystery delay stalls Chelsea loan – with potential permanent transfer on the cards

Sources in Wales are reporting that Bashir Humphrey’s loan deal to Swansea has stalled.

We heard more than a week ago that the young defender was on the verge of joining the Swans, and in fact we were so sure it was a done deal we had put it to the back of our mind.

But now Wales Online are reporting that there’s been a mystery delay to the deal, with Chelsea apparently still reluctant to confirm the deal despite it all being agreed.

Humphreys was excellent on our preseason tour, where he played more minutes than would have been expected, and it’s possible that an even bigger team than Swansea have got involved.

Or maybe, as some have speculated, he’s being used in a potential swap deal for a first team transfer? Or maybe there’s interest in a permanent sale which we’re interested in investigating? It feels like we will find out soon enough.

  1. If Chelsea have checked out Duff’s tactics at Swansea they will want Humphreys no where near South Wales.
I am a disillusioned Swansea City season ticket holder.
