Leicester offer could cause Chelsea to change their long-standing loan plans for midfielder

Nathan Gissing reported earlier today that Chelsea had made a decision on the future of two of their central midfield options – Cesare Casadei would go on loan while Andrey Santos would stay at the club.

Now Fabrizio Romano is adding further details on the team who seem most interested in taking Casadei for the season. The Italian midfielder did well in the Championship last season with struggling Reading, so a move to promotion chasing Leicester seems a nice move, even if he might be holding out for a Premier League switch.

In this case, we think getting so many minutes in the second tier might actually be better than playing 10 or 15 games for a Premier League team. Leicester should play good football and dominate most games, so Casadei will be able to play on the front foot and get forward.

It will be interesting to see what our sporting directors think about the offer. Romano says their aim was a Premier League loan, but this could be a nice alternative.
