Fabrizio Romano has just given his “here we go” to Chelsea’s move for Deivid Washinton, the young Santos striker.
A push from Monaco risked hijacking the move, but the youngster always seemed to prefer to come to us, and with personal terms agreed, it’s just a question of finalising the paperwork and completing a medical before he is announced as a new Blue.
Deivid Washington to Chelsea, here we go! Verbal agreement done as Santos accepted €15m plus €5m add-ons bid for 18 year old striker 🚨🔵🇧🇷
Long term deal agreed, Deivid wanted Chelsea; documents being prepared now.

The deal, according to Romano, will see Santos paid €15m up front, with a further €5m in bonuses available. It’s a lot for an unproven teenager, but he does look a great talent and we can see why our sporting directors are ready to roll the dice.
There’s also a hint in the Italian insider’s Tweet that Washington’s future could actually be staying at Chelsea rather than going on loan to Strasbourg as has been predicted. A lot will likely depend on how the club react to Christopher Nkunku’s injury.
