After full time in Chicago last night, Liam Twomey posted a list of Chelsea’s top 5 players by minutes played through the 5 preseason games.
It’s interesting to see who has had the most game time under the new regime so far.

Of course this doesn’t tell you everything about what Pochettino’s plans are. So much of this is determined by the options available in that position, and the fact that the a lot of the players who played international fixtures after the end of the season weren’t ready to be selected for the Wrexham game which kicked off preseason.
But it’s a nice summary of the players who have had the most time to impress Mauricio Pochettino and those who will be most match fit come the start of the new season.
It certainly reinforces the idea that we’ve maintained all along that selling Gallagher now would be a bizarre decision – he’s not even just a useful squad player as it stands, he’s a regular by any metric.
