Chelsea have announced that Cesare Casadei has completed his loan move to Leicester City.
After signing for the Blues last summer, the midfielder spent the second half of last season at Reading loan, where he made his first appearances in senior football as the Royals battled relegation.
He featured in all four of our preseason game on the USA tour, giving Mauricio Pochettino a good look at him, and now goes to the Championship to try and get a full season of first team action under his belt, further establishing himself as a top talent in his age group.
Other teams – including Genoa in Serie A – were interested, but in the end Casadei and Chelsea have decided to aim a little lower in order to guarantee him more playing time. We think that’s a great decision, and we can’t wait to see how Enzo Maresca can improve him individually.
