Chelsea face major Broja dilemma if West Ham are able to complete €30m sale

Last night’s report from Jacob Steinberg in the Guardian mentioned a few interesting angles on Chelsea’s remaining transfer business.

He noted that West Ham were on the verge of selling Gianluca Scamacca, and that the Hammers would be interesting in buying Armando Broja (whom they were linked to last summer) should they complete the sale of the Italy international. Scamacca will likely command a fee of around €30m, and Chelsea would want most of that.

Broja was supposed to have his chance in the first team last year, and he was just starting to get regular minutes when his season was ended by injury. It would be a huge gamble by West Ham to buy him now, but they are desperate and there were plenty of flashes from Broja in his time at Southampton and at Vitesse that show he can be a top striker.

Chelsea would find an offer hard to turn down, but equally they will feel they’ll be selling a potential star

  1. After an ACL injury players are never the same . Broja is not even fit yet and did not tour with Chelsea . Westham would be foolish to gamble more than 20 million on a fragile player who may not be able to play at elite level . Of course Moyes is an idiot and so will probably bid on another yester-year player .
