£20m signing completing his medical ahead of Chelsea transfer

It’s all going on this morning.

No sooner have we reported that Liverpool have made an offer for Moises Caicedo to try and beat Chelsea to their top target, then we hear that Tyler Adams, our other potential midfielder signing, is having his medical.

Various sources are reporting that Adams has had his £20m relegation release clause met, meaning Leeds are unable to resist the offer, and the player can come and sign for us right away.

This will not be as straightforward a medical as some others however. Adams suffered a bad hamstring injury in March, and while he’s close to a return to training, Chelsea will be especially keen to ensure they do their due diligence on its status.

Adams has long been considered a separate option to Caicedo, and this deal should not affect our ongoing pursuit of the Brighton man – although it makes signing him less of a priority.
