Two more Chelsea players who will not join team on USA tour

Chelsea depart for the USA today, but we already know the names of two players who won’t be joining the team on their trip.

According to a story by Simon Johnson in the Athletic, Omari Hutchinson and Harvey Vale will stay put in the UK as they try to find loan moves to get regular first team football this season.

Vale had 6 months at Hull City last season which didn’t work out too well, while Hutchinson has been playing in the development squad since arriving from Arsenal last summer. This is a critical  season for both of them, and clearly it’s been decided that playing regular games is more important than impressing Mauricio Pochettino in preseason training.

Both 19, a good move this year could set them up nicely for the future. But if they choose the wrong landing spot, they could end up benched and forgotten once again. These decisions will be an important test of our new technical directors and sporting staff.

  1. Que no la participación de Salzburg era para ese propósito? Desarrollar a los jóvenes promesas de una forma más directa?…
