Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea have a genuine interest in signing the 21-year-old Frenchman and they are very close to agreeing on personal terms with the player.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can agree on a deal with Crystal Palace in the coming weeks.
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “There is genuine interest. Crystal Palace don’t want to sell, but Olise is very close to agreeing terms with Chelsea.
“Obviously, players can agree terms have multiple clubs, so the most important thing in all of this is whether a deal can be reached with Crystal Palace, but he is a very concrete option for Chelsea. Therefore, he is one to watch over the coming weeks.”
The French under-21 international had an impressive campaign in the Premier League last year and he picked up 2 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
Olise is highly rated in the Premier League and he is certainly good enough to play for a top club. Chelsea could certainly use someone like him in their attack and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal across the line.
The Blues needs to add more attacking quality to their side after the departure of Mason Mount and Olise will add creativity and goals to the side from the wide areas.
The 21-year-old has the attributes to develop into a top-class player and the opportunity to play for a big club like Chelsea will be hard to turn down. Working under a manager like Mauricio Pochettino could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential.
Although Chelsea will not be competing in the Champions League next season, they will be an attractive destination for most players. They have a talented squad and a top-class manager at their disposal and there is no reason why they cannot compete for major trophies.
