Simon Jordan and Jim White on TalkSport were discussing Chelsea’s appointment of Mauricio Pochettino, and they had some questions about whether he was the right man.
They make a good point – everyone expects these American owners to be obsessed with winning, appointing big names who they’ve seen lifting trophies on TV.
But instead they’ve so far gone for Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino, two coaches with a good reputation – but not known for winning anything at all.
Jordan is positive about Pochettino overall, but doesn’t think he will win us the league.
There are also questions about the way that the coach has been given just a two year deal with an option for a third, while the players playing for him are being put on 7 or 8 year deals.
