“Closer and closer” – Chelsea’s first big sale of the summer imminent with €5m difference all that remains to solve

It’s time for our daily Ruben Loftus-Cheek update as the midfielder races towards a move to AC Milan.

He looks like he will be the first Chelsea player out of the door this summer as the club looks to trim their squad and raise funds. We’ve heard about Milan’s interest for some time and from a number of sources, and things look to be progressing quickly.

Sempre Milan today sum up this morning’s reports in Italy where it’s claimed that Ruben is at the “top of the management’s list.”

Chelsea are pushing for €20m while Milan want to pay €15m, so there’s still some work to be done on the price. However with a move suiting all parties, it should not be long before there’s a handshake and the process can move to the next stage.

There is apparently “continuous” contact between the clubs and a deal is getting “closer and closer” because the Rossoneri have “eliminated” competition for Loftus-Cheek’s signature from Lazio.

We will be sad to see Ruben go – he’s an academy boy and a joy to watch on the pitch – but we will also be excited to see him tearing it up in Serie A.

His best game this season was when he took on Milan in the Champions League and really schooled their midfield – perhaps that was the game that really got them interested in him?
