ESPN have just done a feature on Mauricio Pochettino’s appointment at Chelsea, and Mark Ogden noted something very strange.
After waiting weeks for the appointment, Chelsea had no quotes from him and no pictures with him accompanying the announcement.
“I’ve never known a club appoint a manager without it,” he exclaimed. It’s probably for the same reasons that Pochettino isn’t starting until July 1st – because of a clause in his termination package with PSG.
If it is indeed to do with the coach’s severance pay from PSG – why not just pay them off? Surely these weeks are crucial.
We know he will be working on some things regardless, but it seems more sensible to get him in there full time right off the bat.
