(Video): “If the fans see that…” – Lampard makes prediction for the final game

Frank Lampard is about to take charge of the final match of his second spell at Chelsea.

The Blues boss has had a rough time, and has had a particularly nasty run of fixture too.

It doesn’t get any easier today, as we face an impressive Newcastle outfit. But at least this game is at home, and the coach thinks that can play an important role today.

He wants his players to put in as much effort as possible. “If the fans see that,” he explained “then they’ll recognise that on the day.”

What he’s basically saying is that a good performance today will get the squad a decent send off from the crowd, whereas if they play badly and don’t put the effort in, all the frustrations of a dreadful campaign will be taken out on them. Let’s hope it’s the former.
