Neil “Spy” Barnett hasn’t been afraid to ask the tough questions in press conferences in recent weeks, and he didn’t hold back today.
He today asked the harshest question of all – “are some of these players good enough?”
Of course Lampard isn’t able to say “no” to that. He just says that the players have to prove they’re good enough with their performances.
He pointed to some of the variables and the context – but ultimately he’s admitting that some of their performances aren’t good enough – and if they don’t improve when the context changes, we can only conclude that the players are indeed not up to it.
