Mason Mount agrees personal terms with Manchester United according to exclusive report

Jason Burt of the Daily Telegraph is tonight exclusively reporting that Mason Mount has agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

A piece published just now claims that Arsenal and Liverpool are still keen, but that Manchester United have now agreed personal terms, and are just lacking an agreement with Chelsea.

The rest of the piece is actually about Mateo Kovacic, who is about to move to Manchester City. They don’t add many details to the Mount aspect.

The fee could yet prove a stumbling block, with Chelsea apparently aiming for a crazy sum above £70m while Manchester United will be reluctant to offer more than £50m.

That’s a big gap, but with Chelsea desperate to sell before Mount gets into the last year of his contract, a deal will likely still be done, especially now the personal terms are agreed.

Any hopes of Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival causing a late turnaround are rapidly fading, and if Mount, Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Denis Zakaria and N’Golo Kante all do leave this summer, we could be seeing more than one midfielder come in.
