No sooner has one saga ended than another begins. Joao Felix was linked with a Premier League for a long time, he eventually came to Chelsea, but has now departure with the end of his loan.
But the rumour mill wastes no time. Already The Sun are claiming that Newcastle are ready to swoop for him to bring him back to the Premier League, looking to arrange a loan just as Chelsea did.
Atletico remain desperate to get rid of Felix, and will sanction a loan hoping that the destination club will pay up a permanent fee at the end of it, just as they did with Chelsea.
Ultimately Felix disappointed at Stamford Bridge, but in a properly functional team like Eddie Howe’s Newcastle he could look a lot better, and Chelsea may be left rueing not securing him permanently.
On the other hand, maybe the Magpies will find him as flaky and frustrating as we did in the end?
