Italian giants believe that signing of Chelsea star this summer for a bargain price is ‘easily achievable’

With Chelsea having to have a thorough overhaul of their squad this summer, it was inevitable that some clubs would have the belief that they’d be able to plunder the club for a bargain or two.

Whilst it’s ostensibly true that the size of the squad and the wage bill has to be reduced, there’s little value in letting players go for peanuts unless it’s absolutely necessary for the sake of Financial Fair Play.

The Blues are well stocked in certain areas of the pitch and, to that end, Mauricio Pochettino can be a little more generous in terms of sales.

Similarly, if players see their future elsewhere and they’ve struggled to gain a foothold in the first team, there’s undoubtedly a conversation to be had.

It would appear that’s what AC Milan are banking on, given that Calciomercato note that the Serie A giants believe that a deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek is ‘easily achievable.’

Moreover, the report goes on to detail that even though the Blues have reduced Loftus-Cheek’s sale price from €25m to €20m, Milan are confident that they can get the price down even further.

With Pochettino not yet having got his feet properly under the table and been able to assess every player on their individual merits, it may well be that this is a deal that’s formulated with his knowledge if not his blessing.
