Insane €150m fee still not ruling Chelsea out of race for world’s hottest striker

Florian Plettenberg is well connected in German football, and when he speaks about a transfer you listen.

This is a big claim from him today, about a big transfer. The Sky Germany reporter has just Tweeted that Chelsea are “still pushing” for the signing of Victor Osimhen, and he adds some juicy detail.

The Nigeria striker is apparently “top of our list” and Napoli will want €110m plus bonuses for him. That’s the kind of price you’d expect for a player who has spent two seasons scoring consistently and looking a top player at the perfect age to move and dominate in the Premier League.

In fact, it’s no surprise to hear that Aurelio De Laurentiis wants more money than that. His dream is to get €150m, but he may settle for less up front. A move like this should be impossible for Chelsea, who have spent so much in the last year, but they can make it happen.

If they sell off enough of their squad they can pay off a good chunk of last year’s excesses, creating enough muscle to attempt a Premier League record bid for Osimhen.

The player’s intentions aren’t listed. He’s just won Serie A, and it seems crazy for him to drop out of the Champions League now, especially with the state Chelsea are in, and without knowing who our new manager will be.
